Role Summary

The Accountant ensures accurate financial records, timely month-end reporting, and full compliance with statutory requirements. The role supports key financial processes including reconciliations, tax filings, internal controls, audits, and financial analysis. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure correct financial data and smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) under SYSCOHADA.
• Perform revenue, billing, expense, accrual, and fixed asset reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate working papers and month-end closing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with finance SOPs and internal control procedures.
• Handle VAT, CNPS, IGS, and other statutory/tax submissions.
• Support external audits with schedules and required documents.
• Assist in budget vs actuals tracking and financial analysis.
• Maintain a clean chart of accounts and ensure data accuracy from billing systems.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Support, Network/Technical, and Commercial teams.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

• 2–4+ years in accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of SYSCOHADA (required).
• Telecom or service industry experience (advantage).

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Understanding of telecom billing systems (plus).
• Knowledge of Power BI or SQL (advantage).

Soft Skills

• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Languages

English required; French preferred.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Finance & Accounting Department and works with CFO, Operations, Customer Support, Network/Technical teams, Commercial teams, and external auditors.
